Future Dreams 2021 explores the role of new technologies in art. The language of choreography and that of algorithmic thinking are equally involved in this work, revisited in 2021. Presented in a big screen installation are picturesque video portraits of 42 very different children. Their looks, gestures and movements seem as if they were caught in their dreams. They follow objects and stories in imagined virtual spaces and games that are not visible in the videos. Beyond the algorithmic systems revealed in the choreographies and arrangements of the videos, the audience, while lingering in the installation on a carpet, enters a melancholic atmosphere in which associative narratives emerge, that tell of the ecological crisis and of the longing of the next digital native-generation for future healing.
